Drinking water is an important part of the aquaculture industry, which is related to the safety and health of farming. Therefore, the automatic drinking water system is also indispensable in automaticchicken farming equipment. Drinking water is also the main source of water in poultry, and it plays an extremely important role in the digestion and metabolism of poultry. Properly giving poultry a sufficient amount of clean water is the basic condition for ensuring the healthy and normal development of poultry.
There is a lot of knowledge about feeding chickens, especially laying hens. Under normal circumstances, each chicken needs water per day: about 110 ml in the low temperature season; about 280 ml in the high temperature season; usually about 200 ml.
When the egg production rate of the chicken is increased, the water demand is increased. Because the chickens are strong in egg production and the metabolism is strengthened, not only the eggs need to be formed, but also the food intake of the chickens increases, and the water needs increase. Therefore, pay attention to the supply of sufficient water during the peak of chicken laying. Especially in the three hours of 8:00 am, 12 noon, and 6:00 pm, there should be no shortage of water.
At around 8 in the morning, the chicken began to receive light (daylight or light). Around 12 noon, it is the peak time for chicken laying. After the hen has finished producing eggs, the body consumes more water and needs to drink water. Around 6 pm, the light time is coming to an end, and the rest of the day is ready to rest. The chickens must drink enough water to facilitate the circulation in the evening.
Chickens will have these three drinking water peaks every day. If the laying hens do not drink water or drink enough water during these three periods, it will affect their egg production and health.
Management of chicken drinking water
In the water supply system of the chicken house, one drinker has more than one chicken at the same time. If one or several chickens of these chickens have some pathogen or virus, they are likely to spread rapidly to the whole group through the drinking water system. Infectious diseases transmitted by drinking water include infectious rhinotracheitis, infectious bronchitis, mycoplasma, etc. In addition, drinking water and immunization will also change the quality of water. Therefore, the cleaning and disinfection of chicken drinking water is very important.
1. Equipment cleaning and disinfection. The water storage container and water supply system are cleaned at least once a month. Generally, the pump is rinsed with a high pressure cleaning pump or the detergent is used to remove scale and impurities from the drinking water system, and then the disinfectant is used to disinfect the drinking water. Cleaners should be used to clean the drinking water system before and after administration. After using the cleaner, thoroughly clean the drinking water system with clean water to remove any residual detergent to prevent it from dying or changing the water quality.
2. Disinfection of drinking water. In general, bleaching powder can be used for disinfection of drinking water. It is suitable to use 3 to 5 mg/L of available chlorine in drinking water.
The above is the drinking time and precautions of the chicken when using thepoultry farming equipment-automatic drinking water system.
